A Christmas Story

The Ford City Public Library staff, board and volunteers would like to thank all of those involved in the production of A Christmas Story, Dec. 2, 3 and 4 2010. The directors, cast and crew worked tirelessly for weeks in anticipation of the event and they are to be commended. More than 400 people attended the show in the Ford City High School Auditorium, raising a substantial amount to benefit the public library.

Special thanks go to Josh Meyer, ASD and Ford City High School faculty, staff and administration for the use of the facility. This cooperative effort fosters community cohesion as well as lifelong learning and literacy programs for local citizens.

We would also like to thank Pat Walsh, St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store, Lynda Howlett, Grace Woodside and others for loaning costumes and props for the production. Once again, Klingensmith’s Drug Stores came through for us with a large supply of batteries.

We are grateful to local media, including the Leader Times, Family Life TV and the Valley News Dispatch, for their compelling coverage in advance of the production.

Much credit goes to Renee Zacour for her creativity and commitment to this event, which was so much more than a fundraiser. This local youth drama program brought our community regional attention and attendance. For this we are truly grateful.
